On that note I thought I might profile a few of the shades I have on current high rotation. Depending on the mood & not necessarily the outfit I've been see-sawing between rock n roll red, Malibu barbie pink, downtown brown & this seasons pick (and the soon-to be-mine) super lustrous shade Va Va Violet.

These little sticks of pink-yum are respectively from the satin, amplified & creme sheen range. I have a sneaky feeling pink noveau is long since gone... but there are plenty of near close shades to choose from. As you can see I also have a bit of thing for Revlon Lipsticks and this is because over the years it has proven to be both affordable and reliable for delivering high pigment matte colors.

I'm told that almost every year Revlon threatens to discontinue the cult classic Orange Flip and is met with much demur. Although it is quite similar to Revlon Red & no where near as punchy as, say M.A.C Morange, it does provide a lovely blood orange that can be daubed & matted down for daytime.

fabulous fig |
This shade is a bit of super all-rounder really. It's called fabulous fig & it really is. This lippy delivers superb stayability without entering into dodgy & the ultimately drying glued-to-lip territory.
And seeing as we are in the midst of a 90's revival I'm officially predicting a return to metallic shades. This of course will be a fleeting trend because as we all know metallic shades are only really suited to aliens & ice queens. However I will have my spaceship on standby or perhaps my arctic sleigh if the need arises.
